Applied Sciences and Humanities
The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities is considered as the core department of Buddha Institute of Technology. It includes the Subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities. The department offers the rudiments of the knowledge of Sciences, the basic postulates of Mathematics and, through Humanities, various paradigms of cultures that have evolved over time. It aims to connect the basic sciences with the Engineering subjects and thus act as a bridge between science and engineering. The department aims to impart value-based education and endeavours to motivate the students to apply the fundamentals of Science and Mathematics to their study of Engineering and Technology. The The department prides in securing the services of some of the best faculty from reputed institutions and thus to inspire and motivate in their studies and areas of concentration. The department provides well equipped - labs in Physics, Chemistry and English for practical training of the students and their soft skills development. The students are given personal care and attention by monitoring their academic performance through various committees working under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department.
The outreach of the department is twofold : first, it endeavours to obtain learning outcome returns through problem-solving sessions, tutorial discussions and interaction with faculty members. The students are encouraged to develop a clear concept of the subjects and to develop a strategy for solving scientific, analytical and mathematical problems. Secondly, through its humanities wing, the department has made great advances in synthesizing co - curricular activities with the development of personality of the students. The department arranges the Soft skills and Personality courses keeping in view the placement needs of the students. Thus, the department plays an active role in soft skills empowerment, cultural contributions and personality development programmes that mingle well with the engineering education through its various endeavours to enable the students become successful in placement drives arranged at the campus.
